Chennai, India, November 3, 2011 - Dr. Sang-il Park, founder and CEO of Park Systems, will give an invited talk at the 2nd India-Korea Joint Workshop on Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology in Chennai, India, on November 3rd. The talk, entitled "Advances in Scanning Probe Microscopy and Its Applications", will cover the one of the latest advancements in AFM industry, the Crosstalk Elimination where the XY flexure scanner is decoupled from the Z scanner to which a probe is attached, and its nanotechnology applications: a) under-cut measurement by intentionally changing the angle of the Z scanner thereby enabling sidewall roughness characterization in the nanoscale for the first time, and b) live cell imaging by scanning ion conductance microscopy.
The India-Korea Joint Workshop is supported by both DST of India and MEST of Korea under the science and technology collaboration agreement between two governments, and the workshop will be held twice annually for the next five years. The joint workshop will improve the research communication in science and technology between the two countries as well as promote the economic partnership. The workshop is aimed to become a practical approach towards establishing and expanding a global research network.
