Scanning Thermal Microscopy (SThM)

Thermal conductivity is one of the unique properties of materials where the variation can be detected by SThM. There are two SThM modes. Temperature Contrast Mode (TCM) measures the temperature difference within a small region of the sample, using the SThM probe as a resistance thermometer. Conductivity Contrast Mode (CCM) measures the thermal conductivity difference between different parts of the sample, using the SThM probe as a resistive heater.
